Podcast: Voices of Hockey

I’ve been trailing this for the past couple of weeks but I’m delighted to announce that ‘Voices of Hockey’ will be coming to your favourite podcatcher very soon.

The idea for this series came while I was listening to the fantastic ‘Cue Commentator‘ podcast hosted by Nick Heath.  Nick interviews sports broadcasters from across the sporting landscape, talking about how they got involved, how and why they do what they do and look at career highs (and lows!)

So that got me thinking about an ice hockey specific podcast, with voices that have become linked with the sport – mainly here in the UK but looking further afield too.

And so ‘Voices of Hockey’ was born.  I extended my criteria to cover not only TV and radio voices but PA announcers in arenas and podcasters too.  I know from the UK we have some great people whose voice has become synonymous with a particular team or venue or has been a voice for the sport as a whole on TV.

I’ve been recording interviews already, and it’s been great catching up with these voices – both past and present – from across the hockey world and I look forward to bringing their stories and experiences to you.

Voices of Hockey will be available from Apple Podcasts, Spotify and a host of other podcast apps.  The pod is on Twitter @HockeyVoices and you can email voicesofhockey@march74.co.uk.  I’d love to hear from you.

For now listen to our trailer, subscribe and be ready to get the first episode when it drops in a couple of weeks’ time.
